About Us

Our Club…

Welcome to the Kennet & Avon Woodturners club. We are a friendly bunch of men and women of all ages who have a common interest in woodturning. Our club has been running since 2009 and we’re proudly affiliated with the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain. We have a dedicated committee who proactively run our club promoting a friendly, inclusive and collaborative environment, where all skill levels are equally welcomed.

Our Members…

We maintain a truely inclusive, open and entertaining environment where like-minded people can socialise, share ideas and discuss what they’ve made. Our members range from teenagers to 80 years+ and we range from hobbiests, amateurs and we’re fortunate to have two professional turners with over 90+ years of turning experience. We have a number demonstrations throughout each year deliver by professional turners, sharing their knowledge and passion for the craft. We also enjoy a number of ‘Hands-on’ events where anyone can learn new skills & techniques and each December we have a ‘Showcase’ evening, where our members can display the items made that year, as well as take part in our annual competition, donating our competition pieces to a well deserved charity or local hospital.

Our Venue…

We have a fantastic venue for our Club meetings, at Seend Community Centre, a short drive from Trowbridge, Melksahm & Devizes. Use postcode SN12 6NS for your sat-nav. Seend Community Centre has a large hall with plenty of space for our demonstrations, ample seating, a sizeable kitchen (the Club provides free tea, coffee & biscuits), a licensed bar and plenty of car parking. We have excellent Audio & Visual equipment, utilising two large TV’s & multiple cameras to get close to the action, plus wireless microphones providing our demostrators freedom to easily move around and engage with the club members.
